Symbolism
Maroon and white are the colors used for the Army Medical Department. The cross is adapted from the arms of the port city of Bremerhaven, Germany, where the Activity is located, and is symbolic of medical aid and assistance. The wavy blue bars refer to the Weser River and Bremerhaven's harbor is suggested by the ship's wheel at center.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 10 Nov 1975.
